Boards are made to be trusted, and the Panthers shredded theirs for Jimmy Horn Jr.. He came off 169 spots early, and the room will hear about it. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Ransom where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.
