Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

FutureB
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Colts: B+. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Justin Eboigbe, 65 picks early at the 207th overall pick.
Mauigoa at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
Rome Odunze at pick No. 27 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick61
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at No. 61 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick76
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in Round 3, Pick 12 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89
Rnd3
Shemar Turner
They reached into another round for Shemar Turner, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick121
Rnd4
Cam Hart
Cam Hart slipping to the 121st pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick158
Rnd5
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick166
Rnd5
Dallin Holker
They reached a country mile for Dallin Holker at the 166th pick, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick199
Rnd6
Brian Ugwu
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Brian Ugwu well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick207
Rnd6
Justin Eboigbe
Value said wait; Justin Eboigbe in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick242
Rnd7
Eugene Asante
They jumped the gun on Eugene Asante, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246
Rnd7
Francisco Mauigoa
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Francisco Mauigoa in pick 246, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
