The war room fell hard for Bub Means, and it showed at the 207th overall pick: 38 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Jones pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. They banked enough surplus on James to cover a lot of smaller sins.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
