The Broncos got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Broncos did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Briningstool pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Trotter Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
