The phones were a trap the Broncos kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

Every board in the league had Mettauer lower, and that gap is the story. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sanders. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
