Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall

FutureB-
The Broncos drew a line under the quarterback search with Nix: D-. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Broncos took Aaron Lewis a full 65 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Laiatu Latu
In the 14th overall pick they get a problem off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick17
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In the 17th pick they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick56
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in slot 56 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick78
Rnd3
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at No. 78 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick114
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea in Round 4, Pick 14 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151
Rnd5
Ben Sinnott
By-the-book stuff, Ben Sinnott at pick No. 151 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick190
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
Gabe Hall at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick235
Rnd7
Aaron Lewis
Aaron Lewis at the 235th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick244
Rnd7
DeMonte Capehart
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for DeMonte Capehart. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
