They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Heidenreich left real value on the table behind him. Getting Trotter where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
