Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesD FutureA+
The Browns won the night they stopped Bryant from sliding. Grade: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Cobee Bryant got past him. The Browns do not have to explain a thing at the 200th pick. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In the 3rd overall pick they get juice off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jalon Walker at pick No. 33. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jonah Savaiinaea
The board fumbled Jonah Savaiinaea all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick94 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Quinshon Judkins in slot 94, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick104 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at No. 104 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tory Horton
They will replay Tory Horton at the 179th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick192 Rnd6 Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard at Round 6, Pick 16 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200 Rnd6 Cobee Bryant
You do not let a cornerback like Cobee Bryant reach pick 200 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick216 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
A premium they did not need to pay, Cam Jackson a notch or two before his time. It fills a real need, too.
Pick255 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
Steal is underselling it; Carson Vinson at Round 7, Pick 39 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
