starlux DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Eagles. The needs board said one thing and the Eagles did another, using Round 2, Pick 27 on Edgerrin Cooper while edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots waited.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Reaching for Trotter Jr. left real value on the table behind him.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
They jumped the gun on Jeremiah Trotter Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick59
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Edgerrin Cooper while clear needs at edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots sat open.
Pick97
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
Nothing to complain about; Sedrick Van Pran went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
