You build a draft on nights like this. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. had no business being available in the 80th pick, and the Bengals did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Murphy II to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
