The war room fell hard for Amari Kight, and it showed at pick 182: 84 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Carter. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It is not that Pearce Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Bengals had louder needs to answer first.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.
