Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
Good, not great, for the Browns: B-.

The Browns went off the board in a big way for Monroe Freeling, 25 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.

However the rest shakes out, Lew at that price is a win they earned. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
Denzel Boston in Round 1, Pick 22 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick24 Rnd1 Monroe Freeling
In pick 24 they get a building block for the line, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Chris Bell
They took Chris Bell at par in No. 39, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick55 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caleb Tiernan. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick70 Rnd3 Gennings Dunker
You do not let an offensive lineman like Gennings Dunker reach the 70th overall pick and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Pick86 Rnd3 Connor Lew
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 86 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez at the 107th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick139 Rnd5 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
A tidy little value on Ar'maj Reed-Adams in pick 139, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick147 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
No drama and no debate, Domani Jackson went about where he belonged in No. 147. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202 Rnd6 Zxavian Harris
Zxavian Harris at pick No. 202 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick204 Rnd6 Taylen Green
Taylen Green at slot 204 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248 Rnd7 Nolan Rucci
No edge and no loss on Nolan Rucci in the 248th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
