The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Buccaneers reached some 53 spots for Zakhari Franklin, and value like that does not grow back.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Green at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
