You could see the war room lean forward. Ryan Fitzgerald at the 228th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
