Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall A-
ValueA- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
The Eagles let Bolden fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

Somebody in the Round 3 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while KJ Bolden, the No. 16 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Malik Hooker pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Dylan Stewart
In No. 21 they get a premier pass rusher, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 John Henry Daley
John Henry Daley at pick 50 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick56 Rnd2 Will Echoles
Taking Will Echoles in Round 2, Pick 24 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick85 Rnd3 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at pick No. 85 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick89 Rnd3 Ashton Hampton
Steal is underselling it; Ashton Hampton at slot 89 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick97 Rnd3 KJ Bolden
They will replay KJ Bolden at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick115 Rnd4 Brice Pollock
The board fumbled Brice Pollock all the way to the 115th overall pick, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick120 Rnd4 Andrew Sprague
Andrew Sprague in the 120th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick155 Rnd5 Devin McCuin
A slide stopped in the 155th overall pick, with Devin McCuin worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jayden Jackson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jayden Jackson at the Round 5 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick166 Rnd5 Drake Lindsey
A quiet steal in the 166th pick: Drake Lindsey for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick176 Rnd5 Jordan Marshall
Jordan Marshall at Round 5, Pick 39 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick180 Rnd5 Melkart Abou Jaoude
Nothing to complain about; Melkart Abou Jaoude went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick182 Rnd6 Wendell Gregory
A tidy little value on Wendell Gregory in slot 182, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick226 Rnd7 Eli Finley
Eli Finley in pick 226 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick230 Rnd7 Nyziah Hunter
Good price on Nyziah Hunter in pick No. 230, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick233 Rnd7 Zavier Mincey
Circle this one: Zavier Mincey at Round 7, Pick 12 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick245 Rnd7 Benjamin Brahmer
Benjamin Brahmer in the Round 7 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick257 Rnd7 Maraad Watson
They took Maraad Watson at par in No. 257, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
