Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

TradesA+
FutureA+
Maye is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a A-. Start where it matters. The Bears took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
However the rest shakes out, McLachlan at that price is a win they earned. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They are betting Wilson proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Drake Maye and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In No. 6 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In pick 9 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick109
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Johnny Wilson in Round 4, Pick 9, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick121
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
They jumped the gun on Mohamed Kamara, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick248
Rnd7
Tanner McLachlan
They barely believed it either: Tanner McLachlan still on the board at the 248th pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
