Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall A-
ValueA NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB+
Larceny in the 157th overall pick lands the Eagles a A-, Mestemaker and all.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Drew Mestemaker, the No. 78 name on the board, stolen at pick 157. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The veteran additions, Billy Bowman Jr. chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In the end it comes back to Dylan Stewart, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Dylan Stewart
In slot 21 they get juice off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45 Rnd2 Will Echoles
Will Echoles at No. 45 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick56 Rnd2 Justin Scott
Taking Justin Scott in the Round 2 slot is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick97 Rnd3 Brice Pollock
Brice Pollock in the 97th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick119 Rnd4 Nyck Harbor
Good price on Nyck Harbor in the 119th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick156 Rnd5 Amare Ferrell
They robbed the room for Amare Ferrell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick157 Rnd5 Drew Mestemaker
Drew Mestemaker in Round 5, Pick 19 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick183 Rnd6 Blake Frazier
Blake Frazier in pick No. 183 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jordan Marshall
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jordan Marshall in the 186th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick240 Rnd7 Benjamin Brahmer
A reasonable price with a little left over, Benjamin Brahmer in Round 7, Pick 19. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick243 Rnd7 Francis Brewu
Francis Brewu in slot 243 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
