Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureA
The Bears won the night they stopped Suamataia from sliding. Grade: A-. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
That Suamataia pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will need Rice to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bottom line, with Rome Odunze leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In pick 14 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick30
Rnd1
Adisa Isaac
In the 30th overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick47
Rnd2
Ruke Orhorhoro
A premium they did not need to pay, Ruke Orhorhoro a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick69
Rnd3
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske slid further than he should have, and the 69th pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Brenden Rice well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick80
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 80 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick110
Rnd4
Braelon Allen
No edge and no loss on Braelon Allen in slot 110; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick122
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 22, with Cole Bishop worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick168
Rnd5
Javion Cohen
Javion Cohen in the 168th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
