The phones were a trap the Panthers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The math is unkind, and the D follows.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. They will need Hadden to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
