Thirty-one other rooms let Kenyon Sadiq slide, and the Vikings were the ones holding the card at pick No. 43. Highway robbery.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Fletcher Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.

The back end got a real overhaul.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
