The board owed the Bengals one, and it paid up: Deontae Lawson, the No. 88 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 5 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The Bengals indulged a want in Sawyer while a need in cornerback, tight end and other spots stayed open.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
