Carter should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B-.

The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Barrett Carter, the No. 87 name on the board, sitting there at the 171st overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

White III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
