Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureA+
The Commanders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B.

The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

That Bullock pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They are betting Keegan proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In slot 7 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell slid further than he should have, and the 39th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick40 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Morgan in pick 40. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick63 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 63 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
The board had Braden Fiske higher than the Round 3 slot, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick78 Rnd3 Adisa Isaac
A edge rusher of that caliber at No. 78 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick91 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
No drama and no debate, Khyree Jackson went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 28. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick114 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
The board had cheaper options than Theo Johnson at the 114th overall pick, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick116 Rnd4 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock in slot 116 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick117 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in Round 4, Pick 17 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick133 Rnd4 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in No. 133 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick152 Rnd5 Dylan Laube
They took Dylan Laube at par in pick No. 152, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick222 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
They jumped the gun on Trevin Wallace, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
