Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B+
ValueB+

TradesA+
FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Commanders a B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Commanders came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Skattebo. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Every board in the league had Dumas-Johnson lower, and that gap is the story.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In slot 29 they get a premier pass rusher, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick103
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
They read the board right and Cam Skattebo was the payoff at No. 103. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick188
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Dont'e Thornton Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
They went early on Jamon Dumas-Johnson in Round 7, Pick 29, and the value did not follow. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
