Marshall Jr. should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jason Marshall Jr. at pick No. 250 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The cost of the Vinson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
