Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B-. Nobody else had Vernon Broughton anywhere near the Round 3 slot. The Cardinals did, by 61 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
On value alone, King makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In pick No. 16 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick47
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick78
Rnd3
Vernon Broughton
They talked themselves into Vernon Broughton at slot 78, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick114
Rnd4
Jaylin Noel
They barely believed it either: Jaylin Noel still on the board at the 114th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick153
Rnd5
Kobe King
Kobe King in No. 153 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
