Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Broncos.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Broncos spent Round 6, Pick 32 on Joey Slackman, a name the board had a full 98 spots lower. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Nelson. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In pick No. 20 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick51 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at pick 51 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick85 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 21, with Elijah Arroyo worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick121 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick193 Rnd6 Jack Nelson
Somehow Jack Nelson was still sitting there in the 193rd overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick199 Rnd6 Ja'Corey Brooks
They reached a country mile for Ja'Corey Brooks at No. 199, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick210 Rnd6 Joey Slackman
Joey Slackman at the 210th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
