Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Luke Altmyer got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at the 215th overall pick.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Baker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
