Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Broncos found their guy under center in Maye: D.

The Broncos lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

They have staked the next five years on Drake Maye, which is the only story that really matters here. McCaffrey has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In slot 9 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick136 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
A reach for Justin Eboigbe in No. 136; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick144 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
No edge and no loss on Roger Rosengarten in pick No. 144; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick146 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at the 146th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick156 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
By-the-book stuff, Kitan Oladapo at the 156th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick202 Rnd6 Kendall Milton
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Kendall Milton graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick206 Rnd6 Tanner McLachlan
Tanner McLachlan at pick 206 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick230 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
Nice patience on Michael Barrett, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 10. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
