Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Broncos and Emmanwori: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Nick Emmanwori, the No. 20 name on the board, stolen at Round 2, Pick 19. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Brooks pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In slot 20 they get a seam-stretching tight end. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick51 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Somehow Nick Emmanwori was still sitting there in No. 51, and they pounced on premier safety value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick85 Rnd3 Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. at Round 3, Pick 21 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick122 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
Fair-plus on Denzel Burke, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick191 Rnd6 DJ Giddens
They will replay DJ Giddens at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick197 Rnd6 Howard Cross III
This one needs a full-page explanation: Howard Cross III in pick 197, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick208 Rnd6 Ja'Corey Brooks
A wild overpay on Ja'Corey Brooks in the 208th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
