The Cowboys cashed the board's mistake on Edwards: A-.

Somebody in the 249th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while Donovan Edwards, the No. 186 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will need Kiser to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. The Josh Downs deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
