DB27 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Seahawks. The tape said wait; the Seahawks did not. Joshua Farmer went at pick 92, a good 22 picks before the board was ready. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
On value alone, Edwards makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In No. 18 they get a red-zone target to build around. A real need, handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on JT Tuimoloau. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick52
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
A reach on Donovan Jackson in the 52nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick86
Rnd3
Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92
Rnd3
Joshua Farmer
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joshua Farmer this early at Round 3, Pick 28. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick137
Rnd4
Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams at slot 137 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick172
Rnd5
Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in pick 172 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick175
Rnd5
Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin at slot 175 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick209
Rnd6
Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock in the 209th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick223
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
They robbed the room for Donovan Edwards here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick234
Rnd7
Thomas Fidone II
Thomas Fidone II at Round 7, Pick 18 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
