Draft Grade — Rams
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Rams: C+.

The Rams spent real capital to be 58 picks early on Caedan Wallace, and the board is going to hold them to it. A weekend of give and take that grades a C+.

The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

So much rides on Darius Robinson that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Darius Robinson
In the 19th overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge, though the board says they badly overpaid. A real need, handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
They took Braden Fiske at par in pick No. 52, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick83 Rnd3 Max Melton
They did well to land Max Melton in the 83rd pick, just ahead of his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick99 Rnd3 Cedric Gray
They liked Cedric Gray enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick154 Rnd5 Dillon Johnson
They paid up for Dillon Johnson at slot 154 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick155 Rnd5 Caedan Wallace
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Caedan Wallace well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick196 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at pick 196 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick209 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
They paid a round early for JD Bertrand in the Round 6 slot, more than the board wanted. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick213 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
Steal is underselling it; Cornelius Johnson at slot 213 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick217 Rnd6 Dominique Hampton
They went early on Dominique Hampton in pick No. 217, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick254 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
Taulia Tagovailoa in the 254th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
