Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Mendoza headlines a B- weekend for the Raiders.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Raiders took Riley Nowakowski a full 88 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The whole projection now runs through Fernando Mendoza; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Landing Kilgore that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick No. 1 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick14 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick 14 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. More want than need.
Pick36 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
They paid a round early for Lee Hunter in the 36th overall pick, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
Pick67 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
Steal is underselling it; D'Angelo Ponds at No. 67 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick102 Rnd4 Treydan Stukes
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 2, where Treydan Stukes graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Chris McClellan
They went early on Chris McClellan in slot 117, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
Jalon Kilgore at No. 134 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick175 Rnd5 Taylen Green
Taylen Green in pick 175 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick182 Rnd6 Zxavian Harris
A real head-scratcher, Zxavian Harris in the 182nd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick185 Rnd6 Riley Nowakowski
Riley Nowakowski at pick No. 185 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 George Gumbs Jr.
George Gumbs Jr. in slot 219 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
