Dave DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureB-
Winston Jr. should have been long gone. The Eagles pounced, and earned a B-. Thirty-one other rooms let Kevin Winston Jr. slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at No. 134. Highway robbery. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The Blue pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Jihaad Campbell
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. More want than need.
Pick64
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku in pick 64 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick96
Rnd3
Charles Grant
They did well to land Charles Grant in the 96th pick, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick134
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. in pick No. 134 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick161
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
The board had Emery Jones Jr. higher than No. 161, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick164
Rnd5
Mitchell Evans
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 26, with Mitchell Evans worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick165
Rnd5
Jaydon Blue
They went early on Jaydon Blue in the 165th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick168
Rnd5
Quincy Riley
The board fumbled Quincy Riley all the way to slot 168, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
