Draft Grade — Saints
Overall
B
ValueB

FutureB-
Daniels is the plan now, and the Saints grade out a B. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Saints spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Rosengarten at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Barrett has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 14 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value.
Pick55
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
Ladd McConkey slipping to the 55th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick86
Rnd3
Nelson Ceaser
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Nelson Ceaser well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick136
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea in the 136th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick152
Rnd5
Michael Barrett
They left a pile of value on the table to take Michael Barrett this early at pick 152. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick164
Rnd5
Nehemiah Pritchett
They will replay Nehemiah Pritchett at slot 164 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick170
Rnd5
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Steal is underselling it; Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick176
Rnd6
Braiden McGregor
A wild overpay on Braiden McGregor in Round 6, Pick 1, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick199
Rnd6
Roger Rosengarten
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Roger Rosengarten in pick 199, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick205
Rnd6
Erick All
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Erick All. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
