Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureA+
The Commanders finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B+.

Start where it matters. The Commanders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

They will need Logue to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They banked enough surplus on Henderson to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 5th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders in Round 2, Pick 4 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick37 Rnd2 Graham Barton
Graham Barton at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick47 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
By-the-book stuff, Kris Jenkins at pick No. 47 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Jeremiah Trotter Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick100 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at pick 100 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing TreVeyon Henderson in the 102nd overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick141 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden in slot 141 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick142 Rnd5 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in the 142nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick181 Rnd6 Kaden Prather
Kaden Prather at Round 6, Pick 6 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick223 Rnd7 Zion Logue
A big swing on Zion Logue at pick 223, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
