Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B- to prove it.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chiefs left offensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.

Graves has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Singleton pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Peter Woods
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him.
Pick40 Rnd2 Zion Young
Zion Young at slot 40 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick74 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers in pick 74 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick109 Rnd4 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton slipping to No. 109 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick146 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
A reach on Aaron Graves in the 146th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick176 Rnd5 Tyren Montgomery
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 176 with a little surplus value in Tyren Montgomery. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
