Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Simpson in the fold, and a B- for the Browns.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Browns spent their marquee pick on Ty Simpson, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

They are betting Tiernan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Getting Cameron where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Ty Simpson
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick24 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Caleb Tiernan well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick70 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Brian Parker II. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick107 Rnd4 Emmett Johnson
A quiet steal in the 107th overall pick: Emmett Johnson for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick139 Rnd5 Hezekiah Masses
Nice patience on Hezekiah Masses, who had no business lasting to No. 139. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick144 Rnd5 Connor Tollison
Connor Tollison at slot 144 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick147 Rnd5 Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis at pick No. 147 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick204 Rnd6 Josh Cameron
They will replay Josh Cameron at pick No. 204 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick248 Rnd7 Diego Pavia
They barely believed it either: Diego Pavia still on the board at the 248th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
