The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Garrett Bradbury gives the group a proven body among the projects. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
