The real work happened on the phones. The Raiders fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Bassa pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with offensive lineman, tight end and other spots still on the board. The Bassa reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Landing Golden that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Matthew Golden and all.
