Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cowboys and Allar: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Drew Allar had no business being available in the Round 5 slot, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

Dellinger has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Omarion Hampton
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get an every-down engine for the run game. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Barrett Carter
The board fumbled Barrett Carter all the way to slot 47, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick78 Rnd3 Kenneth Grant
A straight-up fair deal on Kenneth Grant at No. 78, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick117 Rnd4 Shemar Stewart
Shemar Stewart in the 117th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick153 Rnd5 Logan Brown
They jumped the gun on Logan Brown, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169 Rnd5 J.Michael Sturdivant
J.Michael Sturdivant in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick170 Rnd5 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger at pick No. 170 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick171 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar in the 171st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jared Ivey
A reach for Jared Ivey in No. 189; a little patience would have been rewarded. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick208 Rnd6 Damien Martinez
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Damien Martinez. A need, and now a little less of one.
