No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Cowboys.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Cowboys took Jalen Thompson a full 50 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Altmyer to cover a lot of smaller sins. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
