Grand theft in pick 84: the Steelers steal Slaughter and grade out a B-.

Somebody in No. 84 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Steelers sat still while Jake Slaughter, the No. 43 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

It is not that Slaughter is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

If Siereveld pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
