Give the room credit for holding its nerve. CJ Allen came off the board 16 spots later than his grade, and the Bills were the ones waiting when he fell.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Rucci reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with linebacker the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

No drama and no debate, Omar Cooper Jr. went about where he belonged in slot 88. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in the Round 4 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

A reach on Aaron Graves in the 163rd overall pick; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
