FutureB-
The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a B. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Bears, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
They will need Thomas to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Jackson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The Charvarius Ward deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Tyler Booker
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Mykel Williams
The board had cheaper options than Mykel Williams at No. 33, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick52
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson slid further than he should have, and slot 52 is lovely value for the edge rusher. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick63
Rnd2
Oscar Delp
A conviction pick on Oscar Delp at the 63rd pick that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick84
Rnd3
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in Round 3, Pick 20 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick110
Rnd4
Wyatt Milum
They took Wyatt Milum at par in the 110th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick116
Rnd4
Rylie Mills
By-the-book stuff, Rylie Mills at pick No. 116 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick148
Rnd5
Tyler Baron
They talked themselves into Tyler Baron at pick 148, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick180
Rnd6
Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin in slot 180 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick182
Rnd6
Noah Thomas
Value said wait; Noah Thomas in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
