Larceny in No. 159 lands the Bears a D+, Rice and all.

There is reaching, and then there is Tim Smith at pick 226. The Bears jumped the board by 41 and dared it to prove them wrong. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Landing Rice that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Adding Jamaree Salyer by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
