A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bears to a D.

The Bears torched the value chart for Jordan Travis, taking him 68 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. DeJean at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

On the needs board they went 8 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
