Doc DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureA+
The Bears lost the trade table, and the B- tells the story. The Bears put a flag in the ground for Braden Fiske, 69 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
However the rest shakes out, DeJean at that price is a win they earned. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In slot 7 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick14
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In pick No. 14 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36
Rnd2
Sedrick Van Pran
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Sedrick Van Pran. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick39
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emeka Egbuka in pick 39. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick47
Rnd2
Jordan Travis
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Travis this early at Round 2, Pick 15. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68
Rnd3
Javon Foster
They will replay Javon Foster at the 68th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick104
Rnd4
Cooper DeJean
They barely believed it either: Cooper DeJean still on the board at the Round 4 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick115
Rnd4
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in No. 115 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick132
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at the 132nd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick141
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore at slot 141 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick182
Rnd6
Donovan Edwards
Donovan Edwards in Round 6, Pick 7 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick225
Rnd7
Braden Fiske
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Braden Fiske well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick236
Rnd7
Brant Kuithe
Brant Kuithe at the 236th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor need, but a need all the same.
