Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Bears: B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 35 spots for Trey Zuhn III, and value like that does not grow back. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They banked enough surplus on Thieneman to cover a lot of smaller sins.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In pick 25 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 25: Dillon Thieneman for less than the market said. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
By-the-book stuff, Jacob Rodriguez at the 89th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick129
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
They took Mike Washington Jr. at par in the 129th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Trey Zuhn III
They reached into another round for Trey Zuhn III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
